    Intent

St Martin's believes, in line with the Enrichment for All coalition, that every child and young person should have the chance to thrive through rich, joyful and diverse experiences and that enrichment helps young people discover who they are, what they care about and how they want to take part in the world.

Every young person deserves that chance.

As shown on our offer tracker below, we ensure that our yearly Personal Development offer incorporates the following 4 areas:

    • Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural (SMSC) Development: Helping pupils build a positive sense of self, understand right from wrong, and appreciate diversity.
    • British Values: Actively promoting democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect across daily school life.
    • Health and Wellbeing: Developing confidence, mental resilience, physical health, and an age-appropriate understanding of healthy relationships and RSHE.
    • Safeguarding and Risk Awareness: Enabling students to recognise online and offline risks, such as exploitation, substance misuse, or inappropriate technology use

We quality assure our personal development offer using the 8 enrichment benchmarks outlined by the DfE's 2026 Enrichment for All guidance:

    1. A strategically aligned enrichment offer
    2. A broad and well-rounded enrichment offer
    3. A well-communicated enrichment offer that celebrates participation and achievement
    4. An enrichment offer shaped by the school or college community
    5. An accessible and engaging enrichment offer
    6. An enrichment offer that works in partnership
    7. An outcomes-focused enrichment offer
    8. A continually improving enrichment offer

We closely track the personal development offer for our pupils, ensuring that all children access and achieve the personal development they need to achieve, belong and thrive.

Termly co-planning and a regimen of pupil voice ensures that the impact of our  PD offer is tracked. Termly staff meetings track the PD of children new to our school, with personalised provision then planned to address any missed opportunities.
